How to read these specs
- Capacity (Wh) is how much energy the battery stores. More capacity runs your devices for longer.
- AC output (W) is how much power it can deliver at once. Surge is the short burst it allows when a motor, such as a refrigerator compressor, starts. BLUETTI lists “lifting power” instead of surge, a mode for running heating appliances, so the two figures are not directly comparable.
- Max solar input (W) sets how fast portable solar panels can refill the battery.
- Battery cycles show how many full charges the maker rates the battery for, down to a stated share of its original capacity. Jackery rates its cycles down to 70%; EcoFlow and BLUETTI rate theirs down to 80%, a stricter bar.
- Warranty terms differ: Jackery says its full warranty applies only to units bought on jackery.com, and EcoFlow’s DELTA 3 Max Plus page says part of its warranty needs app registration. Check the terms before you buy.
Ready for an outage?
Our free checklist covers what to have on hand, how to size backup power and the safety rules that matter most.
Frequently asked questions
- Which is better, EcoFlow or Jackery?
- It depends on what you value. In our comparison, Jackery cost less per watt-hour and weighed less, while EcoFlow had more output, faster solar charging and room to add extra batteries. Check the tables on this page for current prices.
- Is BLUETTI as good as EcoFlow and Jackery?
- On published specs, BLUETTI's Elite models match EcoFlow on maximum solar input and come close to Jackery on price per watt-hour. We compare published specs and prices only; we have not tested these units ourselves.
- Do these work as home backup during a power outage?
- They can run plugged-in devices such as a refrigerator, lights and phone chargers during an outage. They do not power your home's wiring unless an electrician installs a suitable transfer switch or connection.
- What does price per watt-hour mean?
- It is the price divided by the battery's capacity in watt-hours. It makes models of different sizes easier to compare: a lower number means more stored energy for your money.
- Can I charge these from my rooftop solar panels?
- Portable power stations charge from portable solar panels within their input limits. A rooftop system is wired to your home and the grid, so ask a licensed installer before connecting anything to it.
